the primary focus for your child; but during the day and for many hours, I am the support to whom they come, look to and depend upon. I take this role very seriously, both as a professional in childcare and as a way of life.
I provide quality childcare in a loving home-environment for children from newborn to 5 years old. At Michele's Home Day Care, children are allowed to be children and families are always a priority. I believe that family involvement is essential to any quality childcare program and do encourage parent participation.
I am pleased that you have chosen, or are interested in, my program for your childcare needs. We both have a great responsibility for the health, care and instruction of your child. You, of course are
My program is designed to meet the needs and abilities of each child's physical, emotional, intellectual and social development. The environment is hands-on, educational, and of course, FUN. My desire is to assist and encourage each child's abilities and skills throughout every stage of their development. Your child will have a safe, clean, healthy place to grow and learn.
Children learn through play. I try to provide many opportunities for them to "discover" things about the world they live in. Children need to be treated as special little individuals with much to share. Each child brings a new and exciting personality to my day care which I try to nurture, help them with socialization skills, and guide them thru each new and exciting day!
I have a playroom with the highest quality educational toys and books. We don't have the usual abundance of plastic musical toys here. We have wooden blocks, vehicles, puzzles, play dishes and foods. The children love our Waldorf silk scarves that can be a veil, wings, a headdress or anything they imagine. The environment is rich with opportunities for exploration, discovery and jumpstarting imaginative play. Our outdoors climbing area is awesome with rubber mulch for added protection from falls. We have a huge patio for riding toys, Little Tykes cars, ball play and a gravel area for digging and dump truck play.
I take the children on MANY field trips to places including The Bay Area Discovery Museum, the Childrens Discovery Museum, Roaring Camp Railroad, the San Francisco Zoo and Coyote Point Museum, the park and more. On Monday mornings the children take swim lessons at Peninsula Swim School. They love it!
Once a week we have a teacher come in for a fun kids yoga class. The children look forward to teacher Karin's class each week! We also have a wonderful teacher come in for a weekly sign language class. Take a peek at her web site at: www.riseandsign.com. I found Erika through the fantastic Signing Time web site at: www.signingtime.com. The children are having fun learning a second language.
